Well! For once the weather gods weren't paying attention and we slipped in our Spring Opener ride on a warm Spring weekend. Although Saturday's 70 degrees cooled off a bit by Sunday, several noble riders turned up in shorts. And there was a cast of thousands (well, it was way over 100 riders) who pedalled out from East Providence Cycle's Bike Show, initially on city roads, but soon on rural back roads in Seekonk, Rehoboth and Swansea. This year many riders did the long route, returning to the bike show for hot drinks, fruit, and pastries, courtesy of our hosts, EP Cycle. As usual, Rob Foulkes and his crew put on a great bike show, with a selection of the very latest Treks, Giant, Specialized road bikes, and enough accessories to make your mouth water. The NBW table was busy all afternoon. A good day's ride to start off our riding season.
